Meet the Team
At Special Steps, we are proud to have a passionate, experienced team dedicated to supporting each child’s individual journey.
Becky – Manager
Becky oversees the day-to-day running of both sites. She is highly experienced in SEND provision and passionate about inclusive early education. She has also won a number of awards for her work, including the National Pearson Teaching Gold Award for Excellence in Special Needs Education of the year 2024
Fay & Clare – Deputy Managers
Fay, who is Level 5 qualified, is our Deputy Manager that supports the Panda Room, ensuring consistency across the settings and smooth transitions for all children between sites.
Clare, who is a qualified teacher, is our Polar Bear Room Deputy Manager. She is dedicated to ensuring every child has a quality education suited to their needs.
Jeni - Room Leader
Jeni (Panda Room Leader) is our dedicated Room Leader who plans and delivers targeted, engaging activities tailored to the children’s individual needs and developmental goals.
Nursery Practitioners
Our skilled team of Nursery Practitioners work across both sites to support communication, learning, and development through a nurturing, child-centred approach. Our Nursery Practitioners are: Amy, Anna, Emma, Hayley, Jess, Lucy and Suzanne
Niamh - Apprentice
Niamh is our dedicated apprentice who is working towards her level 2 in Children's Early Years Education. Niamh supports the children across both sites and is developing good relationships with the children.
Aylah - Volunteer
Aylah is our committed volunteer, who generously gives her time to support the children and staff at Special Steps. She will also be starting her apprenticeship with us in November.
